Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

To further assist in the transition for our 5th -8th graders, we are providing this FAQ page. If
you have questions not indicated here, please send those to
alicia.olivieri@goodwatermontessori.org. We will respond to the question and place it on
this FAQ page.

Q: If my student has an IEP, or 504 when will I receive their folders so they can be
taken to their new school?
A: Parents will receive all special education documents at the end of the
school year.

Q: What if I need to pull my kid early to guarantee a spot at their school next year?
A: We would love for your child to finish the school year with us, but we understand if they must unenroll early.

Q: Do you have any specific school recommendations for my child?
A: Yes!  Our guides would love to meet with you to discuss our observations and recommendations.  Don’t hesitate to get in touch with Alicia Olivieri alicia.olivieri@goodwatermontessori.org for more information.

Q: How will the suspension of certain grades affect the long term stability of the school?
A: The suspension of certain grades allows us to prioritize training our staff and developing essential procedures, policies, and curriculum. This strategic focus will contribute to the long-term stability and growth of the school by ensuring a more robust educational experience for our students.

Q: What impact will this decision have on the students affected by the suspension?
A: Students completing 5th, 6th, and 7th grade at Goodwater in 2024 will transition to new schools for the 2024/25 academic year due to the program suspension.

Q: What are the reasons behind suspending it for the upcoming school year?
A: Dr. Bruce recommended suspending the program for the upcoming school year after carefully considering factors such as enrollment fluctuations, staff turnover, and the need to align our Adolescent program more closely with Montessori Education principles. This decision aims to address these challenges and enhance the program’s effectiveness and to focus on supporting our Elementary teachers receiving training.
