Notice of School Closure for Families

Dear Goodwater Montessori School Families,
Thank you for the trust, partnership, and support you have shown throughout the years. It has been a privilege to serve your children and families as part of the Goodwater Montessori community.
As you likely recall, we notified you on April 22, 2026, that the Board of Directors approved the recommendation to close Goodwater Montessori School at the end of the 25-26 school year. The Commissioner of the Texas Education Agency has since approved the request to permanently close Goodwater Montessori School and relinquish the charter held by Wilco Montessori Partners, effective July 31, 2026. The last day of instruction was Thursday, May 21, 2026. This letter is being sent to you at TEA’s request to make sure you have all the information you need moving forward.
In preparation for the school’s closure, families are encouraged to obtain any needed student records directly from Goodwater Montessori School before September 30, 2026. Please reach out to our registrar (registrar@goodwatermontessori.org) for student record requests.
After September 30, 2026, student records requests will be managed through Education Service Center Region 13 (ESC XIII). Families may contact ESC XIII using the information below:

Dear Goodwater Staff,
As you likely recall, we notified you on April 22, 2026, that the Board of Directors approved the recommendation to close Goodwater Montessori School at the end of the 25-26 school year. The Commissioner of the Texas Education Agency has since approved the request to permanently close Goodwater Montessori School and relinquish the charter held by Wilco Montessori Partners, effective July 31, 2026. Employment Service Records will be provided on your final day of employment. The last day to request employment verifications will be September 30, 2026, via hr@goodwatermontessori.org. After that date, you should contact ESC Region 13 (https://esc13.net/charter-schools) for your records.

A Message to Our Community

Goodwater Montessori School will conclude its operations at the end of the 2025–2026 school year. This decision follows careful consideration of a range of factors impacting the long-term sustainability of the school. While difficult, we believe this path allows us to honor our commitment to delivering a high-quality Montessori education without compromise.
For the past nine years, Goodwater Montessori School has been dedicated to nurturing the development of the whole child through an authentic Montessori approach aligned with state expectations. We are deeply grateful to our students, families, educators, and staff—past and present—who have shaped and strengthened this community.
Our priority now is to ensure a strong and supportive finish to the school year and a smooth transition for all students and families. We will continue to provide a nurturing, engaging, and high-quality learning environment through the final day of school. In addition, we are working to provide families with resources and guidance as they plan for the 2026–2027 school year.
We are also committed to supporting our faculty and staff during this transition and assisting them as they pursue future opportunities.
