Dear Goodwater Families

I hope this note finds you and your families well.

I would like to thank the students, staff, and families of the BlueBonnet community for the tremendous act of Kindness, “the Sweetheart Dance” last Friday night. The students provided the music and hosted the event for all families. It was an awesome event with over 200 people attending. The food and entertainment that was provided demonstrate how our students can organize and deliver a high-quality program.

Our Board Meeting is Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at 6:30 pm at the Georgetown Public Library.

Our next Coffee with Dr. Bruce is scheduled for March 7th at 1:00 pm. This conversation will review the Basics of Financing in Charter Schools.

Have a great weekend.

Kindest Regards

Dr. Bruce

Reading Across America

Reading Across America is celebrated on March 2nd.  Our communities will celebrate the week of 2/26-3/1.  In a world buzzing with technology and fast-paced living, the simple act of reading has the power to transport us to different worlds, broaden our perspectives, and connect us as a society. Reading Across America is not just an event; it’s a celebration of the written word and the magic it holds. As we embark on this literary journey, let’s explore the significance of this initiative and the joy that reading brings to our lives.

Montessori education recognizes that children have different learning styles and developmental timelines. The emphasis is on creating a rich, language-rich environment where children naturally develop a love for reading through exploration and hands-on experiences.

Special Programs

Did you know:

Children with unique learning needs do not need to attend a special school or center. Often families feel that they must enroll their child in a special program or school if they meet eligibility requirements for special education. As long as a student is making reasonable progress in a general education classroom, that is where the IEP goals with special support and services are provided! Here at Goodwater we support the whole child and have a full continuum of services to support special education.

Please reach out to Ms. Taryn with any questions regarding 504, IEP, or ESL as well as evaluation needs. Find out more about Child Find here

Would you like to support Special Programs?

We need some support with printing, laminating, and cutting material. Please reach out to taryn.wellington@goodwatermontessori.org for additional information.
